16th Annual Alaska Ski for Women!

Join in the fun at the colorful Alaska Ski for Women (ASFW) – North America’s largest women-only cross-country ski event.

The 16th annual Alaska Ski for Women will be held on Feb. 5, 2012, in Anchorage, Alaska, at beautiful Kincaid Park. This is a partner event where women of all ages and abilities come out to Nordic ski approximately 2.4 miles (4K), many in colorful costumes, while raising funds for local non-profit organizations that help stop the cycle of domestic abuse against women and children.

Participate in One of Four events at the Alaska Ski for Women:

- The Skate (or Freestyle) Race (timed) For women who use either skate or classic technique. There will be several timed waves.
- The Classic Race (timed) For women who are using the classic (Diagonal) technique. Everyone will get a timed result. There will be several timed waves.
- Duathlon combined 8K (timed) This 8K event is geared to those that want extra bragging rights! Duathlon participants will ski the first wave of the Skate Race and the first wave of the Classic Race. The skier with the best combined time will be named the Alaska Ski for Women Race Diva. Duathlon participants must register for the duathlon division. There are only 30 minutes between races, so the faster you ski the skate leg, the more time you have to rest and change gear between legs. Duathletes will be designated by their own bib color.
- The Party Wave (not timed) This non-timed event is just for fun. There are no times calculated and results posted.

For all events, please arrive early and car pool if possible. We are expecting 1500 skiers so the parking lots at Kincaid will fill up quickly. Shuttle service will be available from Kincaid School.
