Ladies Day

This year, you can do more than "just keep up". Let our supportive staff of certified instructors clue you in to the fundamentals of women's techniques, tactics and equipment. We are committed to helping women reach thier full potential in an atmosphere that is fun, uplifting and motivating.

This is the occasion to encourage us to step beyond our present limitations and to discover new powers within ourselves. This is the spirit of our 6 week program for advanced intermediate through expert skiers. Each Thursday morning, you will explore Alta's world class terrain, while learning to dissect skiing movements and determine "what works" for the conditions that day. This will greatly expand your "bag of tricks" allowing you to be more successful every day you ski.

If you are NEW to the program, we would like to invite you to an orientation on December 15, 2011. This will allow you to get familiar with the mountain and for us to place you in the correct group. We will meet at the Albion Grill at 9:30 and ski till 11:00. If you are unable to attend, please call to confirm your skiing aspirations.

Times: Thursday mornings, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Alta Blue Angels

The Alta Blue Angels is a two day program designed for intermediate women skiers, who ski on blue and green runs and are looking to improve their confidence and style. Developed by women instructors of the Alf Engen Ski School with women in mind.

Goals:
- Become more relaxed and confident on your skis
- Be less defensive
- Add more gliding and flow to your skiing
- Have more fun, more of the time and look good doing it.

Day One: Meet the group at 9:00 and identify the core skills and concepts of good skiing. Warm-up and practice the skills of edging, pressure control, turn size and turn shape. We will use a combination of specific drills on appropriate terrain to develop confidence and control.

Day Two: We will unlock the secrets of reading the terrain and how shaping turns helps with speed control. Have fun discovering the magic of blending the skills to ski the way you have dreamed.

Ski With the Girls

Ski With the Girls provides opportunities for early intermediate through very accomplished skiers, to gather and ski together in a non-competitive and fun environment.

Friendly Alta skiers will welcome you and help with introductions, enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and hit the slopes! Smaller groups may form based on terrain preferences and abilities.

Ski With the Girls meets every Tuesday at 10am at Baldy Brews, located on the snow level of Watson Shelter. Skiers can ride either Collins or Wildcat lifts to get to Baldy Brews.

There is no cost to participate, other than providing for your own lift ticket or season pass and for any snacks you may want at the time of gathering.
