Female-specific Gear

what?

where?

when?

Equipment specifically designed for women barely existed 10 years ago. Now there's women's gear for all snowsports, and each year the range is increasing. Women have come to expect and demand products that are designed especially for them.

Manufacturers have recognised the differences in the female anatomy. Designers are addressing the way these difference affect a woman's performance. Most brands now offer a range of boots and skis for women.

Boots are designed and made to fit the female shape. They accommodate a woman's narrower ankles, and lower calf muscles. The softer boots are easier to flex. Gel liners, heel lifts and custom-made footbeds improve the fit and performance.

There's women's skis for beginners to experts; from aspiring carvers to freeriders. They are lighter in weight and softer in flex. On many women's models, the bindings are mounted forward of the men's setting.

Equipment that is designed for women can help avoid knee injuries. Choose the right products for fit, comfort, safety and performance.

Many women's ski programs include advice on equipment, and will help you make the right choices.
